September:
1st: St Anthony’s Primary Year five.
I spoke to three groups of attentive year five students. I am constantly amazed at the interesting questions children ask me, and at their knowledge. They easily cracked the code for my Code Cracker Game and quickly found the answers. Well done to all. And thank you to the teachers for your support.
August:
Wednesday 24th – School visit: St Peters Primary Rockhampton.
I had a wonderful day talking to the students at St Peter’s. Many interested and interesting children and lots of support from teachers and the librarian. The younger children enjoyed the story in my first novel, Lost in a Strange Land. The older students showed interest in learning about the Megafauna that roam in the hidden valley in The Mystery of Nida Valley, and in reading the story. They enjoyed and excelled at cracking code in the Code Cracker Game.
Village Art Festival – Writing workshops:
Saturday 20th - Sunday 21st.
This was my first visit to the Village Arts Festival and I enjoyed wandering around, listening to the music, and browsing the stalls and workshop venues.
The writing workshops introduced me to some interesting writers. The diversity of writing interests and styles never ceases to amaze and stimulate me. I think I unearthed a budding author in one of the sessions and will be interested to see if she follows through with her project.
